Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Ebenezer Fontes Braga

Sakuraba was dominant. He just had too much ability for Braga, so Braga couldn't stop him from fighting his fight. Braga was able to do enough to make it hard for Sakuraba to get the position he wanted on the mat.

Braga tried the infamous butt scoot, but Sakuraba once again showed he can kick the leg. He also did the jumping bit again, so Braga tried to stand up quickly, and he was just quick enough because Sakuraba nearly caught him with a punch.

No one did much in standup, as they were quick to avoid the blows. Sakuraba never hurt Braga, he just made it so Braga couldn't hurt him. He just wanted to get the fight to the ground and get the dominant position so he could make Braga submit. When Sakuraba had this chance, he nearly had Braga in a hadakajime (naked choke), but Braga was able to get back to his feet.

Sakuraba get the side mount, but Braga was able to avoid his initial attempt at the udehishigigyakujujigatame. Sakuraba solved this problem by elbowing Braga in the ribs then throwing a flurry of punches to the head. When Braga put his hand up to block these punches, Sakuraba grabbed that arm and locked in the udehishigigyakujujigatame for the win. This was a good match, and Sakuraba got a huge reaction for beating the former UFC fighter.

Jason: Sakuraba was really impressive here, going on offense from the start and not holding back trying to get the win. Braga was just too passive and got caught late in the round waiting for the bell.
