THE FINAL ARSION:
Mikiko Futagami (13-4-2) vs. Mariko Yoshida (15-1-2)

This match really didn't deliver the goods like it should have. These are the two best at the style that we should be calling the ARSION style, so this should have been an excellent match. Instead, it was at the same disappointing level as their ARS match even though it was the main event and neither woman had worked/had to work another match on the show.

Not surprisingly, the match was very technically sound. It was similar to the old UWF style, mainly submissions back and forth with some fairly credible high spots thrown in. Both women used a few creative submissions, so it wasn't like it was just the standard fair. Still, the fans didn't react to it even though the result was definitely in doubt. The problem for me is that while I saw the catches, they didn't convince me that any of them were going to be the finish. I was pretty shocked that the match ended so soon, and maybe the dead crowd was too. Futagami scored a major win with an innovative submission called a Futagami shiki neck and leg lock, beating Yoshida in singles for the first time. This result seemed to prove Gami was a member of the ARSION elite, reinforcing her gaudy singles record. Unfortunately, since this time Futagami has fallen from grace for seemingly no reason.
