This was going to be a sad day because Candy Okutsu was retiring way too soon, but the death of Plum Mariko really magnified the sadness. This show had every right to suck because "at best" everyone had to at least be somewhat distracted. However, they somehow managed to focus on their matches, and for the most part they produced matches that were better than you would expect.

The show opened with all the wrestlers standing at ringside facing the crowd while they had a moment of silence for Plum. Tears were just pouring down Kansai's face. In the studio, the announcers reflected on Plum's career and they introduced her now famous (ok, that may be a stretch, but it's the featured matches on the Plum Mariko Memorial Arigatoo Mari-chan commercial tape) match against Chigusa from 2/11/94. They edited the match down a bit, and it actually came off better in this format. This match is one of the things that made the tape to good, but given the circumstances that led to the special rebroadcasting, it's kind of hard to really enjoy the match.
