Devil Masami 20th ANNIVERSARY ACT 3 - FUTURE:
Super Heel Devil Masami vs. Mayumi Ozaki

Aside from the fact that Devil did her no sell Mark Calloway wannabe routine, this was a really good match. The work was strong, and they did a good job of mixing some brawling spots into a wrestling match. Ozaki got in a lot of offense in spite of the fact that Super Heel won't put anyone over. The match had a lot of nice counters, some of which made it look like Oz might beat the zombie, but probably more that made it look like it would once again be The Night of the Living Dead. The pace was obviously slow because Super Heel was involved, and the match lacked heat because no matter what they did it's still hard for anyone to believe Super Heel could lose.

This match had a number of notable spots, moreso because they were different than because they were awe inspiring. Still, you won't find many Super Heel matches with as many cool spots, but I suppose that's more because Super Heel sucks. Among the highlights were Ozaki slipped out of a press slam off the stage and knocked Devil off with an uraken to set up a diving swinging DDT off the stage. Ozaki wasn't able to avoid getting press slammed with Devil standing on the 2nd rope though. Devil jumped off the 2nd to the floor trying to hit Ozaki with her rod with a skull on the end. Although Ozaki avoided this, it was still interesting to see someone that big jump off the top to the floor with something that long. That doesn't mean I want to see it again though, as it would probably look clumsy if Devil tried to pull off connecting with the rod. Ozaki teased a nadare shiki no Tequila Sunrise, but settled for a nadare shiki no backdrop. Ozaki used a series of urakens to KO Devil, and Devil did a great job with her eyes of making it look like she was in another world. The ref was tapping her face to try to revive her, but Devil wouldn't respond. Of course, she soon popped up and tried to Tigerdriver Ozaki, but Ozaki did a nice counter into a small package. Unfortunately, Devil rolled on top and pinned Ozaki in a crummy American finish. 11:48 (8:59 aired).
