Middleweight Bout:
Paul Jones (shootfighting)
vs. Chuck Liddell (kickboxing)

This was the worst fight on the show because Jones was very unimpressive. He burned all his energy right off the bat trying to take Liddell down. Liddell didn't show much offense, but his defense was more than good enough to prevent an energyless Jones from doing anything to him. After Jones was in a Coleman-esque state, Liddell could use his kickboxing, but Jones got cut so quickly that the ref stopped it before Liddell had a chance to tee off on him. Jones was so bad that I'm not really sure whether Liddell is all they made him out to be. 3:53

Jason: Jones blew up very quickly trying to take Liddell down to mat while Liddell was putting all his weight onto Jones's body. After that, Jones couldn't withstand Liddell's strikes, and it was stopped because of a nasty cut to Jones's head. Jones needs to get into better condition if he wants to go more than 3 minutes. Liddell's kickboxing skills looked great, and he utilized them to get the win. A decent fight.

Miko: Paul Jones has shown more in the past, but here he came out flat and gassed nearly instantly. Liddell put his kickboxing to best use and won easily, but Jones fighting so poorly does indeed leave alot of questions about how good Liddell really is. With the confusion in weightclasses (Bas is moving down to Middle, Randleman has said he might do that as well), Liddell should have plenty of chances to prove his skills in up coming fights.
