JWP Nintei Tag Senshuken Jiai (JWP Acknowledged Tag Title Match):
Hikari Fukuoka & Tomoko Kuzumi
vs.
Devil Masami & Cuty Suzuki

This match got off to a hot start and stayed hot throughout. It was a strong match almost entirely because of the work, high spots and to a lesser extent the execution. Hikari was way better in tag during 1998 because she can get away with just doing her spots a lot better in this format. Thus, Hikari & Kuzumi were the stand outs because they have all the great spots, and Devil & Cuty simply didn't hurt the match. Actually, Devil was in the mood to work, and at this point she was still no slouch on the rare occasion she decided to fire up. Devil was clearly the dominant force in this match, but she didn't go overboard with her no selling. The finish saw Cuty in trouble after being Dragon suplexed by Kuzumi. Kuzumi hit her Victory Star drop finisher, but Cuty rolled through and pinned Kuzumi to take the tag titles.

Matches like this are what we should see from the top wrestlers in JWP all the time because it's not like it was so good because of the story or psychology or anything like that. It was just work and spots, which when you are this familiar with the opposition is a matter of firing up and not screwing things up. Unfortunately, the only wrestlers who seem to be able to do this on a consistent basis are the NJ juniors.

Miko: I usually like JWP tag matches like this, and I think this one was at least ****. The action was fast-paced with nice spots that were a lot more difficult than just simple double teams. There were some painful looking powerbombs, nothing like Nash's drop bombs. The facials of Hikari and Devil in particular were good. Devil was her usual overpowering self, but Cuty looked a step slow and seemed to be showing her age more.

Jason: To me this match will just blend together with all the other matches of the same style. The work, pace, and execution were all great, but there was nothing that really stood out that would make this an exception to other spotfests by the same caliber of workers.
