Super Heel Devil Masami vs. Tomoko Kuzumi

A pointless match that seemed to be over before it began. Devil was at her no selling worst here. My least favorite spot was when Kuzumi revenged Devil by putting her in a sleeper on the floor, so Devil decided to no-sell it and run Kuzumi into the security rail. The Super Heel gimmick has to go because all it does is make for bad matches and hurt the opposition by showing they are no match for her. Furthermore, it makes no sense that she's invincible simply because she has some paint on her face. The Undertaker gimmick is the most illogical in all of wrestling, nothing but the typical American wrestling insult on intelligence, but at least they don't run Calloway out there most of the time as a "mere mortal" then expect us believe he's unstoppable just because he puts on a black outfit and some funky contacts.

This booking was no better than what Nash & Hogan were doing to hold the quality WCW wrestlers down and keep their spots. It's probably worse because at least those two don't actually step in the ring with the guys they were holding down and make them job in a non-competitive squash (although recently Nash had Sid doing that in those wonderful non-sanctioned wins he was getting). Another reason it's probably worse is that while Devil would have obvious motives for booking a match this way, Devil isn't the one who booked the match, so someone who wasn't involved in the match actually thought this was a good idea. Any booker that would job out Kuzumi in four minutes as this point in her career seriously needs to have their head examined.

Miko: The Super Heel gimmick totally killed this. Why they would have Devil squash Kuzumi like this is beyond me.

Keith: A total wash. The Super Heel gimmick is a terrible copy of a bad 'shroom dosage. This was a complete waste of Kuzumi's talents. You could see how desperate Masami was to get heat for her match. She resorted to old style heel tactics, even doing that lame Dr. Death shake the guardrail to "startle the audience." The fast sleeper hold finish sucked because it didn't seem like Kuzumi gave up. I kept wondering whether Masami would suddenly revert back to being plain old Devil if Kuzumi took a bottle of water and sprayed it on her paint covered face? At least it would make the gimmick somewhat humorous, redeeming it's utter stupidity.
