Battle Station JWP 9/16/98 JWP & AJW Presents FIRE DAY, BURNING NIGHT
Taped 9/6 Tokyo Korakuen Hall (1,650)

JWP vs. AJW should be cool. Unfortunately, JWP didn't make good use of the AJW women they brought in. They had Maekawa in a "submission queen" match even though she doesn't really use any submissions. They put together an ass kicking combo of Kansai & Hotta, but the opposing team wasn't on their level, making it obvious that they would beat them up then pin Miyaguchi. Then they had a new leaders vs. now leaders type of match where the now leaders won to the surprise of probably no one. All in all, the booking was horrendous because the only thing done to help the younger girls was the Kuzumi angle that was seriously butchered to the point that it had little to no effect by the end of the night.

The lone bright spot for JWP was that the AJW women were outshined in ring by the JWP women. Too bad it wasn't in the manner that you'd hope where AJW was great, but JWP was greater. This was more like the AJW women were just there without much of a role, so they generally didn't put that much effort into their match. Instead, they just kind of fell back on their high spots.
