Alexander Lunga vs. Bair Shtepin. Shtepin had the reach, & would use his left hand to measure distance then throw a big right. He landed a good right following a missed jab early, but Lunga soon dropped him with a huge distance closing hook. Shtepin recovered quickly, but Lunga punched his way in with right hands & got a takedown. Lunga had a much better wrestling & judo game, but the ropes often prevented Lunga from completing his takedowns. Shtepin was too hesitant after taking the big punch & was getting beat in standup because Lunga kept the pressure on & got off first every time. Shtepin was just too flatfooted after getting hurt. Shtepin regained his movement in the 3rd, backing away from Lunga's big right hands & getting back into his own offense. Shtepin broke Lunga's nose in the 3rd, bloodying him in standup & closing strong with ground & pound. It was too little too late, but the fans were getting pretty excited when Shtepin was on a rool late. Above average match
