Open The Dream Gate: Masato Yoshino vs. Don Fujii 15:55 of 23:56. I never expect much from Fujii, but the fastest guy in the league against the slowest would seem to be even more oil and vinegar than typical Fujii. Fujii was actually moving here though. In fact, he mustered every ounce of athleticism in his body, and even though he was far from graceful, his effort was so apparent that you forgave him. It was truly one of the best singles matches he ever wrestled. Of course, much of the credit goes to the great job Yoshino did of working around and compensating for Fujii's limitations, but Fujii was also smart enough to manage to hold his own and be more than effective. Yoshino was a waterbug, and it was mostly either Yoshino sprinting and Fujii turning and matadoring him or Yoshino pretzeling Fujii but Fujii rolling through to turn it into a pin attempt. The fans were really into it down the stretch, pretty much going wild for the counters into pinning predicaments. ***1/4

Open The Twin Gate Title Match: Masaaki Mochizuki & Don Fujii vs. Genki Horiguchi & Ryo Saito 21:49 of 23:43. Pretty good action, but certainly lacking the intensity and urgency one would associate with a big title match. I felt it would have been better at 15 minutes or so, as the match tended to amble along. I thought it would pick up when they took Genki out with a nodowa on the apron by Fujii, a tombstone on the apron by Mochizuki, and a spike piledriver on the floor, but there was never any sense that Ryo wouldn't survive going alone. Everyone was decent, but no one really stepped it up and took the match upon their shoulders. **1/4

Open The Brave Gate: PAC vs. Ricochet 8:52 of 15:48. An amazing display of athleticism. Maybe not so much a wrestling match as two acrobats putting on a show, but how often do you see back to back 630 splashes and a 360 shooting star press? They aren't the greatest opponents for each other because they are too similar in style, a style where someone has to make the match and bet the catcher. However, both, especially Ricochet, are so much better when they are flying that it works better than one might think. I'm not sure how to rate this, but it was definitely an enjoyable aerial spectacle. ***1/4 range
